How to decorate a cool boy room

This month my wife and I come up with an idea to upgrade our boy room to the next level. Soon Tom is turning to five years old in October, and that’s the reason why we would like to renew the room for his birthday gift.

First of all, we want to check which color is Tom favorite. And actually, Tom seems does not care about the color; for him, they are no privilege. We usually think blue is the right color for a boy room, but after checking a ton of articles on the internet, we found out grey or beige is also the right choice.

Marie would like to paint the room with a light color so we can make the room look a little bit bigger with beige, then we draw some starts on the wall with gray and black paint and a piece of skyscraper art as a backdrop for the room. We found out this is a good idea to make something new for your children out of an old space.

Near the window, we use a closet to keep all of his clothes. We keep toys on display because Tom is still a boy; the toys are going to be replaced by the other stuffs when he grows up.

Tom is always interested in animals, so we also hang on a lot of pictures of some pets like dogs, cats, bears, and monkeys on the opposite wall.

For the bedside desk, we put a global on and one Lampe. For besides the table, we found it’s easier to use the white color for many purposes of decorating. Even when he has already grown up, we still can use that for our second child.

We also change the cover for beds and curtain to a light shade of blue and brown.

Still early for Tom now to get used to with a study desk and chair. But Marie and I decided to keep a space for this purpose, so we put a sofa in that position. It’s more convenient for us to rest, and the couch also an excellent closet to keep Tom season outfits. He is growing so fast that almost the clothes become tighter after a few months. And every space becomes smaller to him.

We are still working on renovation the room for Tom, and we hope that he will like that. If you have more ideas and you would like to share with us, please do not hesitate to leave us a message or a comment on this blog 😉

Summer memories

Summer is always the best time of the year for me. When I was 12 years old, my parents moved to Vietnam because of my dad’s work. I stayed there for three years; then, we moved back to Germany. It was not a long time, but I always remember the summer memories in the tropical country, bright colors, heat of the sun, flavor, and taste of tropical fruits.

I was into Vietnamese street foods every afternoon, Tom – my neighbor – and me, we went to the big river of the city to fly skies, pick up some sour mangos, fresh watermelon with chili salt before come home for dinner.

Growing Flower at home

Now, it’s just memories. This year, because of the Coronavirus, we stayed at home almost the time. My son – Tom – named after my favorite friend of my childhood – is four years old now. My wife and I want to create some pleasant summer memories for our son; we decided to make a small garden backyard and let my son join the project.

Tom was excited in his very first project; tiny fingers touched everything. We want to grow some veggies for our family, some flowers, some cactus while Tom just wanted to play with water from the tub backyard after 3 minutes joining the project.

We bought to earth from a local flower shop, one for flowers, and one for vegetables. Maries – my wife – would like to have some lavender pots; she loves the flagrant of the charming purple flower. We bought three small lavender pots from the store and moved them together to a new bigger pool.

I love salad, and Tom loves Spinach. Let tried to grow some greenie at home. I hope our little garden will not be bothered by snail – the most enemies of salad. I put some seeds on the hole after fill pots with special earth for vegies, while Tom helped me to water them.

Marie was happy with her lavender and cactus corner, while Tom and I were satisfied with our salad pots. I hope we can harvest them one day. After finishing the project, we have dinner with some fresh salad cost 2 euro per package, backed French baguette, and Morazela cheese, watching Start war together. I’m happy because my son also loves this series. I watched Star war for the first time with my parents. My dad is also a big fan of Stars war, now the club has a new member named Tom. 😉
